3-Minute-Thesis Competition - calling participants!

Are you a PhD student who has an established and running PhD project and do you have great presentation skills? Are you excited to share your research with a broader public audience? We invite you to apply!

On March 9, 2022, UG will hold a 3-Minute-Thesis Competition where PhD students will be given the opportunity to present their research in only 3 minutes, with just one slide, to a non-specialist audience and a panel of judges in an understandable, convincing and fascinating way. This concept was developed by the University of Queensland and is now held at universities all over the world.

To Apply

Please submit a 150 word summary of your 3 minute pitch plus a concept of your one slide via the website of the 3-Minute-Thesis by January 30, 2022. Four lucky PhD students will be selected from each Graduate School cluster (Medical Sciences, Science and Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences) to compete in our local 3MT final on March 9.

In February 2022, we are offering a free feedback round to the twelve selected candidates (four from each cluster) to further develop their presentation skills for the competition on March 9. Make sure you will have time to participate in this session before applying!

A panel of judges will award prizes for the top presentations and the winner will have the opportunity to participate in the International Coimbra 3MT Competition!

For more details about the competition, prizes, and how to submit your application, please visit the UG 3MT website: https://www.rug.nl/education/phd-programmes/media/3mt/
